Verizon has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Galaxy Note 3 variant. However, this isn’t something you can get over-the-air just yet; you’ll rather have to install the software relying on Samsung’s infamous Kies software. Or, if you hate dealing with wires, you can wait for the OTA rollout, which will hopefully start soon.
According to AndroidCentral, it takes about half an hour to install the new software, hinting us this is a massive firmware upgrade.
Expect all the usual KitKat enhancements that should deliver that much better user experience. In addition, Samsung will also update many of its own apps, add new stuff to the mix and so on.
In any case, you should make sure your battery is fully charged prior to pushing the [update] button. Moreover, you may also consider backing up the data just in case something goes wrong. Good luck.
