Google working on a Project Tango tablet

Google is working on a Project Tango tablet, The Wall Street Journal is reporting. We’re not sure how tablet is better than the smartphone prototype the company has developed and can only imagine that the extra space is used to house even more sensors. Or to cram better sensors.

Anyhow, the WSJ article says that these tablets will be handed out to select group of developers, which in turn should make some crazy things with them. Somehow I always thought that Project Tango would be useful for people with disabilities, but Google may have some other uses for this technology, as well.

3D is obviously emerging as “next cool thing” for major technology companies and Google, obviously, doesn’t want to be left behind. Quite the contrary, they want to lead the pack and eventually include Android to the mix. We’ll keep watching this space and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add…

Next stop – to cram the same technology inside Google Glass. And Google will know EVERYTHING about you and your surrounding.
