Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S4 Value Edition (i9515) in Europe that is pretty much identical to the “regular” Galaxy S4, with the only difference being in the preloaded software. You see, this “model” (if we can call it like that) comes with Android 4.4 KitKat… and that’s about it.
Inside we have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip clocked at 1.9GHz and 2GB of RAM. There’s also the same 13-megapixel camera on the back and 2-megapixel front-facing one.
Why is this unit called Value Edition is beyond me. But it’s obviously a more affordable device than the newly launched Galaxy S5 so I guess it will find its buyers.
The Korean company has kicked of sales in the Netherlands, where this Galaxy S4 variant is selling for 398 EUR. The regular Galaxy S4 is slightly cheaper and I really see no point in paying any premium for the Value Edition.
