WWDC 2014: Apple’s Siri Now Responds to “Hey, Siri” and Identifies Songs as They Play

Apple acquires Novauris to make Siri better understand what you're saying

Siri has received some big improvements in iOS 8, including the ability to identify songs with the help of Shazam, and a new way to command Apple’s virtual assistant. Siri can now be commanded by uttering, “Hey Siri” Apple’s version of  “Ok Google.” Users will be able to prompt Siri via voice, similar to the way Moto X users can command their devices. Siri now supports 22 new languages, and will be an integral part in Apple’s connected home plans.
