Sprint's Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update

Sprint and Samsung have started rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. Software build number T217SVPUBNE7 comes with a number of improvements and tweaks, including:

  • New Lock Screen Access – Media Controls, Camera Shortcut
  • SMS App Chooser – select a default application for sending and receiving SMS text messages
  • Restyled Status and Navigation Bars – status and navigation bars are translucent and can sit on top of apps, along with simplified status bar icons
  • Consolidated Location Settings – location services are integrated and more detailed by new Location menu
  • Expanded Emoji Icons
  • Wireless Printing – supports printing over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
  • Prevention Information pop-up message is suppressed

As a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 user you’re probably aware that this is the first update the device received thus far. What’s more, chances are this is also the last one with Samsung pushing users to upgrade to the Galaxy tab 4 7.0, or some other model from their vast portfolio (of tablets)…
