If you own AT&T’s or Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S5 and like experimenting with stuff, you’ll be glad to know that now there’s a way to root your beloved smartphone. This unofficial way to take full control the Galaxy S5 comes from famed cracker and Sony’s BFF geohot, who claims that the method will work with a number of different Android devices with a kernel date before June 3, 2014, excluding certain HTC and Motorola models.
You should be warned though that the tool is still in the nascent phase and its final release is weeks away. So this isn’t something everyone should try out no matter how much they happen to hate certain Samsung apps and would like to complete remove them from their smartphones. While you’re thinking whether this is the step worth taking, feel free to join the discussion over at XDA forums to get all answers to questions you may have.
