Samsung Apps to be renamed to Samsung Galaxy Apps from July 1; Will the name changed affect the usage?

Samsung Galaxy Apps

Samsung has serious problem with its apps and services – not that many people use them according to Strategy Analytics’ data. So they’re trying to do something about that, beginning with the name change.

Starting July 1st, Samsung Apps will be known as Samsung Galaxy Apps. The reason for this decision is everything but clear, and we’re hoping that there will also be some other changes included. Perhaps the Korean company improves its UI and app recommendation engine, or perhaps it starts offering some of the premium apps for free. Actually, they’re already doing something similar with every Galaxy phone or tablet purchase (Galaxy Perks). Guess their idea is to turn Samsung Galaxy Apps into a central spot for every Galaxy device owner out there. And there are quite a few of them…

The new name comes on the heels of earlier Samsung Apps decision to discontinue listing of Bada OS on the website. However, the store will still be accessible via a device.

In any case, we are looking forward to see what Samsung could bring to the table. They definitely need to up their game in order to have a service more people will use…
