HTC Eye “selfie phone” coming to AT&T

HTC Eye selfie phone coming to AT&T

AT&T will be adding a new “selfie phone” to its portfolio in the near future, EVleaks is saying. Dubbed HTC Eye, this up-and-coming device will obviously have a rock-solid front-facing camera, allowing users to take awesome photos of themselves when they fancy so.

Currently only few HTC phones have powerful front-facing cameras — including the One M8, One Mini 2, One E8 and Desire 816 — all of which rock a 5-megapixel front shooter. So we would guess that a selfie-dedicated device comes with something better, like an 8-megapixel camera. Or perhaps a front-facing flash, or dual front-facing cameras. I doubt the last mentioned will happen, but we may indeed see the phone with a front camera that has both LED flash and auto-focus capabilities.

Alas, we’re still in the “speculation phase” and will rather have to wait for few additional days (or weeks) to get the missing details. We’ll make sure you don’t miss a beat. In the meantime, do let us know whether you’re open to getting the selfie phone. Or not.

Just what we need – a selfie phone… not.

I mean considering AT&T and HTC track record on releasing special and exclusive devices together, it will be a fail. But mark my words, a high MP, front facing soft flash and or dual cameras and focus are the next big thing and will eventually replace camcorders for self videos.
