The Nexus 8 is heading to India for testing, a shipping manifest reveals. Google still hasn’t mentioned anything about the Nexus 7 successor, so we’re still in the dark as to who will manufacture the tablet, or what the price point will be.
According to the shipping manifest, the Nexus 8 is “similar to the Nexus 7” and carries a value of INR $16,484 which translates to $275 USD. This doesn’t mean that the finished Nexus 8 will run $275, and will more than likely clock in at around $199 if Nexus 7 pricing is any indication.
Previous leaks suggest that the Nexus 8 will come rocking one of Qualcomm’s 64-bit processors, 3GB of RAM and will be running the newest version of Android, which will more than likely be Android L.
The fact that the Nexus 8 is now in India for testing means that we are possibly getting close to the release of a new Nexus tablet. As the name suggests, we could be seeing an 8 inch screen on Google’s new tablet. We’ll keep you updated as more details leak out.
