A woman was killed by a subway train at Union Square in New York after dropping her iPad, losing her balance and falling into the path of an oncoming train.
Aracelis Ayuso, 21, tried to recover the iPad when it slipped from her hands and landed on the train tracks below. Ayuso lost her balance and fell to the train tracks, right as a train was approaching. The train’s conductor saw Ayuso’s fall and attempted to stop the train as it approached, but was unable to do so. Ayuso was struck and killed by the oncoming train.
According to the NYPD, there were no signs of Ayuso being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. A full toxicology report is still pending.
