Although we’re still waiting for Cook & Co. to officially announce the next iPhone that doesn’t prevent certain Chinese vendors from launching their own “variants” of the smartphone.
And voila… relying on sketches and early prototype leaks, this company managed to create the GooPhone i6, which doesn’t come even close to what the iPhone 6 will be all about.
Forget the hi-res screen, this thing tops at qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixels). The display has a 4.7-inch diagonal, hinging us they are shooting for folks looking to get a smaller of the two iPhones — from what we’ve understood there will be another iPhone version with a bigger 5.5-inch display.
Rest of the i6’s specs include MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core chip clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras.
GooPhone will start selling its fake phone on August 1st for some $150. You should be warned not to buy one of these; the quality isn’t there and the warranty you receive isn’t worth the paper it was printed on. If you want the iPhone 6, wait for the real deal…
