Motorola smartphone with two cameras on the back coming soon?

Well what do we have here… Could this be the upcoming Moto X+1? Or that’s something completely different? Whatever this is, it comes with two holes on the back, making it ready to “accept” two camera modules to deliver an improved photo taking experience a la HTC One.

Another scenario could be that the extra hole will be used to house the Moto logo, which for some reason is missing from the kevlar-like back cover. That would be kinda strange, but you never know. We like to think this will indeed be a device with two cameras on the back.

In that sense, we’ve already mentioned that more companies are looking to join the “dual camera revolution.” One of them could be Huawei, but we’re sure other handset makers are looking to enhance their products with better cameras, as well.

Anyhow, we’ll be watching for any upcoming Motorola leaks and let you know as soon as we have something new to add. In the meantime, feel free to drop your two cents in the comments form below. What do you think – is this the Moto X+1 and could it really come with two cameras on the back?

I’m all for dual cameras. Love the HTC One M8! :)

Deeper spot for your finger to hold your phone? With new placement?

I seriously doubt it’s going to be the gimmicky dual camera thing. In first place, there are two extra little holes (dual LED flash? Flash and some kind of extra sensor like G3?). And those two are surrounding the upper, smaller of the two big holes, which in the case of a dual camera setup, would be the SECONDARY camera (it wouldn’t make a lot of sense having a primary smaller sensor and a secondary bigger one, would it?). That doesn’t make a lot of sense (one would think the flash should be placed next to the main camera). So fortunately it doesn’t look like they are going to implement that gimmicky dual camera thing, but something else (maybe even nothing else than a logo or something like that). With a bit of luck, the camera will have a much more useful OIS (which by the way is not compatible with a dual camera setup), and/or a big (for a smartphone) sensor (judging by the shot, the hole for the camera module is big, unless is a small phone)…

Maybe Google shared some of their findings on depth perception photography and Motorola is implementing that on the new Moto X+1. This leaves me pondering on another theory and wondering who is really the Nexus 6 OEM ????. Hmmmm..could it be HTC or Motorola-Lenovo.
