The earlier rumored Windows Phone-powered variant of the HTC One M8 has again caught attention of the media. This time we have Engadget to thank for this; according to their sources, this phone will be known as “HTC One (M8) for Windows.” Yes, that’s an everything but straightforward name and we can’t help but wonder what happened to the easier to remember HTC W8 name. That sounded much, much better. Perhaps we should blame Verizon, rather than HTC. Chances are we’ll never know…
In any case, we do know what this device will be all about. According to EVleaks, the One (M8) for Windows will run the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile platform (Windows Phone 8.1), while sporting all the good stuff the “regular” HTC One M8 has, including BoomSound speakers and a pair of cameras on the back.
With this model hitting the stores, Windows Phone fans will finally have a decent alternative to various Nokia Lumia models, which pretty much ARE the Windows Phone market; other vendors account for insignificant percentage of Windows Phone device sales…
