BlackBerry Passport clears the FCC, inching closer to the U.S. launch

BlackBerry Passport clears the FCC

If you’re like me and can’t wait to try out the upcoming BlackBerry Passport, you’ll be glad to hear that said device has been caught at the FCC. The filing is everything but revealing — there are no external and internal photos — since the Canadian company asked for confidentiality through September 12th. About at that time, we expect this business-centric phablet to launch, offering both the big screen experience and full QWERTY keyboard.

We’re still clueless whether some U.S. carrier will pick up the Passport, though. We will make sure you’re the first to know when that happens.

I was never a BlackBerry fan, but I did like what Canadians did with BlackBerry OS 10. That being said, I can’t wait to try out the Passport. I admit it looks somewhat awkward and that it can be bulky to carry around, but what you get in return is increased productivity. And I think that’s worth the effort. What do you say?

This phone has caused me to research and look at investing in BlackBerry. While this and the Classic may be for a targeted demographic, I will definitely be purchasing one. That screen with the trackpad keyboard is innovation. I do hope Verizon and AT&T will both carry this device and allow an in store demo. This phone may actually reach outside of its target demographic. Very excited, I’m also secretly hoping for a high spec all touch to be released after these devices. By that time BlackBerry will be break even or turning a profit and the negativity surrounding the BB brand in the US seems to be changing. I’m excited to finally get something different from form factor to OS (former Android user)… cmon carriers, this will no doubt stand out against the others!!!

  • Hey!

Ugliest phone ever!!!!!! Good luck bb when the new iPhone 6 and the new note 4 come out. New hardware same crappy bb10 software. Globally bb is falling of a cliff. Nobody cares about it or bbm.
