To say Samsung had a big day at IFA yesterday would be an understatement. Sammy unveiled the Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge and the Edge VR. Samsung let another device slip out at IFA, an 8 inch ruggedized tablet known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active. It’s pretty standard fare for Samsung, but interesting nonetheless, and is a great option for those who need the functionality of a tablet in extreme environments.
The Galaxy Tab Active touts a more hefty version of Samsung’s S Pen, the C Pen, and rocks a WXGA LCD 8 inch screen. A 1.2GHz quad-core processor is on board as well as 1.5GB of RAM, a 3.1MP rea-facing camera, 1.2MP selfie snapper, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card, and a 4,450mAh battery. The tablet boasts an IP 67 rating and will come with a few connectivity options including WiFi only and WiFi plus LTE, and is available in Titanium Green and will come with an accompanying Protective Cover. Samsung hasn’t detailed pricing or availability yet, but we can expect to see the tablet arrive before the holiday season.
