ZTE unveils Blade Vec 3G and 4G, and low-cost Kis 3 Max

ZTE used the IFA show to unveil a trio of rather unimpressive devices, all catered towards folks on a budget and perhaps first-time smartphone buyers. Let’s quickly dive into all three of these, shall we?

ZTE Blade Vec 4G

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz
  • 5-inch 720p HD screen
  • 1GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage (with microSD cards)
  • 8- or 13-megapixel main camera (region dependant)
  • 1- or 2-megapixel front-facing camera (again, region dependant)
  • 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
  • 7.8mm thick carbon fiber body
  • 2,300 mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Price: 230 EUR
  • Availability: It has already launched in Turkey, France, Romania, Slovakia, Belgium, Norway and Sweden.

ZTE Blade Vec 3G

  • MediaTek MT6582 quad-core chip clocked at 1.3GHz
  • 5-inch 720p HD screen1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage (with microSD cards)
  • 8-megapixel main camera
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3G/HSPA connectivity, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio
  • 7.8mm thick carbon fiber body
  • 2,300 mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Price: 180 EUR
  • Availability: It’s coming to Germany and we guess few other European markets.

ZTE Kis 3 Max

  • MediaTek MT6572 dual-core chip clocked at 1.3GHz
  • 4.5-inch FWVGA TN matrix screen512MB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage (with microSD cards)
  • 5-megapixel main camera
  • 2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3G/HSPA connectivity, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0
  • 1,850 mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Price: 100 EUR
  • Availability: It’s coming to the UK, Germany, Greece and Bulgaria.

In a nutshell, if you can – you should avoid buying these ZTE phones. The Chinese firm can do much better — take their Nubia range as an example — but I assume they’re trying to cover every possible price point. Which results in phones like these…
