BlackBerry is preparing for busy September; the struggling Canadian company will unveil two new devices in the next few weeks.
First, we’ll see the expensive BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983, which will boast all the expensive materials and Porsche branding to justify the steep price tag. Unlike the previous Porsche Design device, this was one goes back to BlackBerry’s roots, boasting full QWERTY keyboard beneath the 3.1-inch 720×720 touchscreen.
Rest of the specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, and a 2100 mAh removable battery. All this will be available for an everything-but-reasonable price of $2,000.
The media invite reads:
Iconic Style meets Effortless Productivity! Look forward to a reunion with the famous keyboard. Join us to celebrate the launch of the next iconic product from Porsche Design and BlackBerry. Experience the luxury of being one step ahead.
Then, a week later, we’ll see another new BlackBerry device – the much anticipated Passport. As you’re probably already aware, this is one polarizing phone (or phablet?) people either love or hate. I’m in the former group as I really think it could boost my on-the-go productivity. Again, I’ll have to try it out first and see whether all the apps I use are available for BlackBerry OS.
Finally, in November, BlackBerry Classic will be unveiled, offering all the bells and whistles BlackBerry fans learned to expect in the past few years. Yes, this includes the trackpad…
