On October 15th, Sony is all set to unleash the PlayStation TV in the U.S. and Canada for around $100. The PS TV is a little streaming box that does everything but make your coffee for you. With gaming at the forefront of the little box, the PS TV easily blows away streaming boxes like the Amazon Fire TV on the gaming front. We’ll have to wait and see if the PS TV delivers, but it looks like a beast so far.
Sony hasn’t said for sure, but it’d be pretty crazy if Netflix, Hulu Plus and other streaming apps don’t make their way to the PS TV. Customers can purchase video content from the Sony Store and will play games that appear on Sony’s new PlayStation Now game streaming service. PS Now currently boasts a ton of PS3 and Vita titles which are available for purchase or rent for a limited amount of time. You can even stream games from your PS4 system directly to the PS TV if you’ve got a robust LAN connection.
Raised your eyebrow, did I? Check out the video below for a look at what exactly Sony’s little box can do.
