Apple may launch a gold iPad Air later this year. Or even better, it could unveil the iPad Air 2 which could be available in few different color version, gold variant being one of them.
Quoting people familiar with the plans, Bloomberg says Cook & Co. want to have the same palette for the iPad as they do for the new iPhone 6.
With Apple preparing to launch new iPads, sales of current models have been declining for the past two quarters after soaring from $5 billion when the product was introduced in 2010 to $30 billion in 2012. Last year, iPad sales produced $32 billion.
Apple hasn’t introduced a new iPad since last October, so it’s about time we see the new iPad, which will likely include the same chip the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 use. Moreover, we expect that next iPad Air, and iPad Mini for that matter, come with Touch ID sensor to enable mobile payments and “stuff like that.”
Alongside the “regular new iPad,” the Cupertino giant may also be working on a bigger model, one that could boast a 12.9-inch screen. We’re not sure whether that device will be unveiled this year, though.
