As it’s trying to get users from the higher ends of the market, Huawei is making sure its newer devices not only have the solid hardware, but are also looking nice. That was the case with the new Ascend Mate, Ascend P7 and the newly announced Prime E5878 mobile WiFi hotspot. In fact, we would say that the last on the list is the fanciest mobile WiFi hotspot we’ve ever seen.
Said hotspot can deliver 4G LTE download speeds of up to 150 Mbps while sharing its Internet connection with up to 10 devices with a range of 100 meters.
Specs wise, the Prime E5878 comes with Huawei’s own HiSilicon A9 dual-core chipset, 4G LTE Cat4 radio, and an OLED screen that shows active connections and “stuff like that.” The device measures 109.5 x 58 x 7.5 mm, featuring Nano Molding Technology (NMT) which combines metal with polymer into a seamless material that makes for the slim look and feel.
Mentioned OLED screen is scratch and crack resistant, and is neatly integrated in the overall package. The built-in 1900 mAh battery will keep you online for up to 8 hours of use in LTE mode or 380 hours in standby time.
Another cool feature is the ability to control the hotspot using the Huawei Mobile WiFi mobile app. From here, users can tweak settings, check status and so on.
The Huawei Prime E5878 LTE will be available in black and white, in Europe and the Middle East. Additional color versions such as sunny gold, peach pink or turquoise green, with polka dot or diamond texture effects, will hit select markets in the near future. Pricing information were not unveiled, though.
