Huawei unveiled a special version of the Honor 6 smartphone at an event in Beijing. The new Honor 6 Extreme Edition uses the company’s latest Kirin 928 octa-core chipset clocked at 2GHz that also includes the Mali T628MP4 graphics. In addition, the device comes with full 3GB of RAM, making sure you always have enough memory even when multiple apps are running at the same time.
Rest of the specs include a 5-inch full HD display, LTE-A Cat. 6 connectivity support (where available), 32GB of expandable storage, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and a non-removable 3,100 mAh battery.
Alongside the phone itself, Huawei will also bundle a bunch of special accessories, including specially designed headphones, a 0.2mm tempered glass screen protector, 2 NFC tags and a limited edition “Road and force” protective shell.
All this will be available for $489 with pre-orders starting on October 21st. We’re not sure whether this model will ever hit markets in the Western hemisphere; we do know that for the time being, Huawei will make only 9,999 Honor 6 Extreme Edition units so we expect them to clear out the inventory in just a few days… or weeks.
