For one reason or another, Samsung and AT&T haven’t found time (or whatever) to launch the KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 8.0. That’s changing now with users getting their goodies as we speak.
The new firmware, version JZO54K.I467UCANI2, comes with all the latest bells and whistles included in Android 4.4 (security and usability improvements being among the more notable changes), Beats Music app pre-loaded, GMS apps update (GMS 4.4.2_r2) and the ever-handy Multi User Mode. Moreover, there are a number of tweaks for Samsung’s TouchWIZ UI that should deliver that much better user experience.
So yes, this is the update worth installing as soon as possible. Alas, you may haven’t got it, yet. Worry not – it’s coming any day now.
As that’s usually case with these sort of things, Samsung and AT&T are rolling out the update in stages to keep the servers alive. But when your Note 8.0 informs you about the new software, make sure its battery is fully charged and that you’re connected to a fast Wi-Fi hotspot; then tap that Update button. Before you know it, your one-year-old (or so) tablet will look sexy, again. 😉
