Samsung’s battery making (among other things) arm, Samsung SDI, has used the InterBattery 2014 exhibition in Seoul to show the world one of its latest products – the flexible, rollable battery made for the next generation of wearable devices.
What’s especially cool is that the demo
The company used “structural design and improved materials” to make this possible, but added that the final product won’t be commercially available within the next three years.
Meanwhile, they intend to work on improving the reliability of these batteries.
In related news, Samsung SDI also showcased a pin-type battery measuring only 20 x 3,6 mm, boasting a capacity of 10 mAh. The size of the smallest pill capsule, this battery has also been designed for future wearable devices.
Yes, the next few years will indeed be interesting with batteries like these enabling new kind of technologies and devices. Can’t wait. 😉
