You may’ve heard that Samsung has started selling the Galaxy S5 Plus in some parts of the world. This updated version shouldn’t be confused with the model Sammy is selling in its backyard — Koreans got the best version of the device, one that has a Quad HD screen like the LG G3.
Here are 5 things you should know about the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus:
- The screen is the same. That’s full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and not Quad HD, like the one LG G3 has. In Korea, Samsung offers a Galaxy S5 variant that has a Quad HD display.
- Processor. The Galaxy S5 Plus rocks Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 chip which is marginally faster than the one regular Galaxy S5 has – Snapdragon 801. This is the only difference between the “Plus” and the regular Galaxy S5.
- LTE-A connectivity support – that’s the main thing Snapdragon 805 brings to the table. This sort of network isn’t available all around the world, hence the S5 Plus will only be available in markets where that “makes sense.”
- Availability. Singapore and the Netherlands are one of the few countries where this, updated Galaxy S5 is available. In Singapore, the device is known as Galaxy S5 4G+.
- Price. In the Netherlands, the Galaxy S5 Plus will be sold for €599, which is €100 more than the regular model.
Finally, we should add that we don’t have any information which markets will come next. Hopefully, the world’s largest phone maker will issue the official press release with those details. Stay tuned…
