iPhone: How to close apps

The other day, a friend asked me how to free-up memory on his (now old) iPhone 5. I thought holding down the Home button will do the work, but no – Apple has its own way of doing things. So I had to search the Internet to find the solution. And here it is – the solution that will work on both iPhones and iPads.

  1. From the home screen, press the Home button twice to launch the app switcher. Here, you’ll see the list of recently active applications.
  2. Now swipe each of the apps upwards to close them.
  3. Press the home screen again.

You’re done – background applications are now closed. It’s bit different than on Android, but easy nevertheless. 😉
