Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition Launches in the U.S. for $199.99

Samsung’s smartphone powered Gear VR Innovator Edition headset is now available for purchase in the U.S. from Samsung.com or AT&T. Powered by Oculus, the company behind the amazing Oculus Rift, the Gear VR will allow a fully immersive VR experience when coupled with the Galaxy Note 4. It is possible that future Samsung devices will also support the Gear VR, although we haven’t heard anything specific about that. Think of the Note 4 as the brains behind the operation, with the Gear VR being the brawn. Separating the two allows for a lower price point than say the Oculus Rift which is one solid unit.

The Gear VR Innovator Edition, intended for developers and tinkerers will also have access to the Oculus Mobile SDK which includes Oculus Home, Store, Cinema and 360 Videos and Photos to get you off to the right start.

From the company that brought you ‘cheap’ monitors and cheap phones (and many other bad and expensive products that have been perfectly timed and massively hyped via paid articles), comes a half-finished, flimsy and cheap accessory for their biggest phone. Though it’s not so cheap since it’s about the same price as oculus, at least you can now justify buying a 7′ phone other than being a massive douche with a size complex :))) #samsungSuckes sums this up
