Nokia Indonesia conducted the Communicator Community Gathering today to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Nokia Communicator’s presence in Indonesia. More than 2,000 Communicator users attended the gathering at Grand Hyatt Hotel.

In the recent decade, Nokia has always chosen Jakarta as the first city to launch each Communicator series globally.

"This community forum allows us to listen to the needs of Communicator users, which we then use to develop new solutions," explained Kendro Hendra, managing director of inTouch Wireless Services, who is known as Nokia’s partner in market development and the Communicator user-support entity in Indonesia.

At this celebration, Nokia Indonesia also launched its quarterly magazine titled Community, which serves as an informative medium for all community members. The magazine will feature relevant information such as applications designed to maximize the product’s efficiency and effectiveness to various activities held by the Nokia Communicator communities.

Furthermore, the magazine will also feature management information delivered by market experts and also the profile of famous people who areCommunicator users.

"The creation of this magazine is one form of Nokia Indonesia’s support for the Communicator community as Nokia Indonesia is committed to supporting and developing this community," added Hasan.

I’ll be honest, I have never seen a communicator in real life. They were always objects of extreme cost, and bulk and I never really found it attractive at all. I guess you have to be a certain type of user to like the communicator. I’m glad Nokia is trying new things with the E61 however, the first device with the "blackberry" form factor. For a first generation product it’s OK but it could be better.
