Scanbuy

Scanbuy has announced that its ScanLife 2D barcode application is now working on one more platform – iPhone – and is now available for free on the iPhone App Store.

Those not familiar should know ScanLife uses the phone’s camera to give users an “instant connection to information, without needing to search by keyword or type in a lengthy URL.” All you have to do is start the app and point the iPhone’s camera to a 2D barcode and get additional information about a product or service — the application will then either open an URL in Safari or send a user directly to an iTunes page to preview and purchase a specific song or to watch a video on YouTube.

But it’s not just the big businesses Scanbuy is targeting. Individuals can also create and scan Personal EZcodes to link to their blogs or networking sites by registering an account at ScanLife’s website…
