Nokia: It’s not what computers have become

Phones are just an expansion of our digital lifestyle.

The N95 will never replicate the physical sensation of sitting in front of a 30 inch LCD.

The E90, as powerful as it may be, will not let me browse the internet in the same fashion I’m accustomed to on my ThinkPad.

The N95 and E90 are devices that can complete me however. They are great for when I’m not in front of a computer, they are even capable of creating user experiences that a laptop or desktop can only dream about, but they are not replacements for what we as humans have been calling computers since the 80’s.

I think Ricky’s experiment is a horrible idea, but I’ll wish him the best of luck any how.

Take away my SIM card and you’ll take away the main reason I purchased a smart phone: knowledge anywhere, anytime, about anything. Devices aren’t about what they can do anymore, they’re about the connections they can create.
