HTC quarterly profits up almost 20%

HTC recently reported their  quarterly earnings, up 19.3 percent year over year. The Taiwan based company exceeded even their own estimates,  of NT $32 billion to NT $34 billion.

Their first-quarter revenues were NT $37.7 billion, which is about 1.2 billion  US dollars. Net profits were also up, at NT $158.7 million, up from the quarter a year ago.

HTC can thank themselves for pushing their brand in TV ads, ads on bus stops, ads online, you name it.  With their global advertising campaign pushing their new “quietly brilliant” tagline, HTC is surely doing something right. They’ve morphed from a company that never even used to brand the devices they manufactured to a company that has successfully infiltrated peoples homes. And, that’s allowed them to grab a lot of mind share in quite a short amount of time.

With devices like the Hd2, Nexus One, Desire, Legend, and upcoming EVO 4G, HTC has a solid line up. The user interface that they lay on top of their devices is both intuitive and smart. It doesn’t look to bad either. I’ve had Sense running on my Nexus One since it came out, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. HTC makes amazing devices, and with their ongoing campaign, and awesome phones coming out in the near future, I’m betting their profits will shoot up once more during the second quarter earning call.
