The next in a long string of developer betas for the next version of iOS has gone out to iPhone app developers. Said devs are still tinkering with the beta, so it’s hard to tell what’s new, but there’s a lot of hope for AirPlay to stream video to the new Apple TV, improved battery life, better stability, and increased speed over the last iOS beta.
The most exciting thing about 4.2 overall is that it is being built with the iPad in mind, so that folks who have been getting used to multitasking on their iPhones will finally have a consistent experience with their Apple tablet. AirPrint is another feature we patiently await for public release in 4.2, which will allow you to wirelessly print documents and pictures from your iPhone or iPad over a local Wi-Fi network.
Registered developers can go ahead and start downloading the latest beta in the iOS Dev Center. Be sure to drop a comment with any new goodies you happen to find.
