If you’re a fan of RPGs then you’re in luck because yesterday Gameloft released its first ever JRPG, Eternal Legacy, and its highly anticipated hack-n-slash RPG, Dungeon Hunter 2 onto the iPhone.
Eternal Legacy is Gameloft’s first foray into creating a JRPG, which stands for Japanese Role-Playing Game. The game has everything that a traditional JRPG would have such as characters with weapons as big as themselves, a strong emphasis on story, and a turn-based combat system among other things. If you are a fan of Final Fantasy or any JRPGs similar to Final Fantasy, then this is a game that you’ll be most interested in as it’s main storyline lasts for approximately 10 hours. Although I’m sure you’re aware there’s no way your iPhone would last that long in a single playthrough, so be sure to take it one day at a time.
The other RPG title should not require an introduction, especially if you read my review of its prequel, its behind-the-scenes video, and its preview. That’s right kids, Gameloft has finally released the sequel to their very popular Dungeon Hunter, Dungeon Hunter 2. Dungeon Hunter 2 features improved graphics, more character classes that you’ll evolve into as you level up, and a darker, more mature storyline. It’s also Gameloft’s first title to fully support Apple’s Game Center, which not only means you can earn achievements and compare leaderboards listings with your friends, but you can also partake in online multiplayer with up to 4 people online through Game Center. You can also play online through Gameloft LIVE!, or play locally through local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
With the holidays upon us, it’s expected that you’re going to have a lot of downtime from now until the new year, so why not check out Eternal Legacy and Dungeon Hunter 2 while your chestnuts or roasting over an open fire or whatever it is you do during the holidays.
