Hola. Ciao. Hallo. Hej. Dobrý den. If you understand any of that, chances are you are just fluent in a lot of languages, or in a country where the iPhone 4S is now sold. Apple’s iconic new smartphone is now available in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Apple is selling the iPhone 4S unlocked in all of these countries, which could be an advantage or disadvantage. Unlocked means there’s no carrier contract to abide by, but it also means you’ll be shelling out a lot more money to get your hands on the 4S. Se tu compri un iPhone in Italia If you buy an iPhone in Italy, you’d have to spend €659 — a steep price for any phone.
One of the new features in the iPhone 4S is the redesigned antenna system, which intelligently switches between two antennas depending on the way you are using it and supports both GSM and CDMA wireless standards. Since GSM is used around the world, iPhone buyers from America can travel to, say, Europe and have minimal trouble using their phones. The same applies to international iPhone buyers coming to the U.S.
While 22 countries are enjoying the benefits of an unlocked iPhone, we Americans are still trapped within two-year contracts. Luckily, Apple does promise an unlocked iPhone 4S coming in November, which will start at $649.
