Google just officially announced the Nexus 10 tablet running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Like the rumors stated, the new tablet is made by Samsung and it will rock a 10-inch 2560×1600 (300ppi) PLS display. In addition, the 10-inch slate is said to bring 9 hours of video playback or 500 hours of standby on a single charge, weighs only 603 grams, and measuring just 8.9mm thick, with a curved, metallic textured back and front-facing stereo speakers. It’s essentially the same body as the Galaxy Note 10.1. The Nexus 10 has a Samsung Exynos 4 SoC processor tucked inside.
Interestingly, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean brings in some cool features, such as Gesture Typing, which lets you glide your finger over the letters you want to type on the keyboard. Moreover, Android 4.2 also adds support for wireless display so you can wirelessly watch movies, YouTube videos and play games right on your Miracast-compatible HDTV. This is a feature that’ll take on Apple’s Airplay.
The Nexus 10 is due to launch on Nov. 13 in U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan. A 16GB Nexus 10 will set you back $399, while a 32GB version will go for $499. Of course, we can’t wait to get our hands on one of these Nexus 10 tablets.
Who out there is thinking of picking one of these bad boys up?
