Google is apparently getting ready to more seriously interfere in the Android market. According to the Wall Street Journal, the search giant is working on its own Android-powered console that will compete with a number of existing products like OUYA, GameStick and Project M.O.J.O.
Moreover, it is said that we may see the Google smart watch (again, powered by Android) released at some point in the future as the company is seemingly looking to cover every market segment Apple is potentially trying to enter.
Finally, a new Nexus Q may also be launched later in the year though it’s unclear whether that will be a separate device or the mentioned gaming console (which could also be used for media playback).
The main idea of the upcoming Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is not just to enable more powerful mobile computing but also to bring Google’s platform to places where it wasn’t before – to other devices beyond phones, tablets and TVs, as well as emerging markets of the world. Yeah, we can’t wait for its launch. 😉
