Buying an iPhone 5c? Then you should start getting ready now as pre-orders for the colorful handset start at 12:01 AM on Friday, September 13th. Below is a list of retailers and carriers that are accepting pre-orders.
Apple
Apple will kick off pre-orders at 1 minute past midnight and will allow you to buy the phone for your carrier of choice as long as you are on Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless. The process is smooth, but it takes a bit longer as you have to go through an eligibility check. Apple's servers also tend to get swamped as that it is where most people go.
Verizon
Verizon launched a landing page for the iPhone 5c with a registration form that'll let you sign up to be notified when the phone launches. You may not want to register at this point, just check this page at midnight.
Sprint
According to Sprint's web site, the carrier will open pre-orders for the iPhone 5c online on September 13 at 2 a.m. CST. You can visit the 5c landing page for pre-ordering details.
T-Mobile
T-Mobile has been the most vocal about the iPhone 5c, announcing in a press release that it will carry both phones. Like the other carriers, the iPhone 5c is front and center on the carrier's home page. There's also a dedicated landing page for the phone, which is where you will want to go when pre-orders begin tonight. You’ll have to visit T-Mobile as Apple is not accepting pre-orders for this carrier.
AT&T
AT&T confirmed it will carry the iPhone 5C and the phone has a small banner on the carrier's home page. Pre-orders start on September 13, but there is no iPhone 5c specific information available when this post was written. The landing page for the iPhone still has the older models.
Best Buy
Best Buy has confirmed that it will carry the iPhone 5c as a launch partner. The 5c landing page is live and that is where you should check at midnight on September 13.
Walmart
Walmart announced today that it will offer the iPhone 5c for $20 less than everyone else, including Apple. The retailer will sell the 5c for $79 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders start on the 13th, but they are in-store only. You may want to use Walmart's store finder tool to make sure your local store sells wireless phones and when it will start selling the phone.
Target
Target will be carrying the iPhone 5c, but the retailer doesn't appear to be accepting pre-orders. You can check out the iPhone 5c on Target's website.
If you don't want to stay up late tonight to order a phone, you can always gamble that it will still be in stock and available for pre-order in the morning. Customers that don't want to bother with a pre-order can always stroll into a store on September 20th and pick one up on launch day. It might be busy trip as the iPhone 5s also goes on sale that day.
