Archos is launching three new Android tablets, part of its Platinum line-up. The new devices include Archos 80b Platinum, 97b Platinum HD and 101 Platinum, all of which come with quad-core Cortex-A9 chips clocked at 1.6GHz, 8GB of expandable storage and Android 4.2 Jelly Beam.
As for the differences, the Archos 80b Platinum sports an 8-inch 1024×768 IPS screen and 1GB of RAM; while the 97b Platinum HD has a 9.7-inch display with 2048×1536 resolution and 2GB of RAM. Finally, the Archos 101 Platinum packs a rather standard 10.1-inch 1280×800 display and 2GB of RAM.
The French company failed to mention the prices of any of the three devices, though it added these will cost less than comparable products made by Apple or Samsung. I would expect that the new range of Platinum tablets hit stores across Europe in the next few weeks, helping Archos benefit from the holiday shopping season…
