Has your shiny new iPhone 5s been gobbling up the battery? You are not alone. According to the New York Times, Apple has admitted that some of their iPhone 5s models include a manufacturing defect which causes severe battery drain.
“We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5S devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life. We are reaching out to customers with affected phones and will provide them with a replacement phone.” – Apple spokeswoman Teresa Brewer
Apple did not disclose how many of the iPhones were defective, but it seems that the number is pretty low.
