Google is slowly creeping its way into Apple’s territory with the release of the Google Play Movies & TV app for iOS, giving iOS users access to purchased TV and movies from the Google Play Store. Google began the invasion with the release of the Google Play Music app back in November. Not only will iOS users be able to access their content purchased on Google Play, but Chromecast owners will now be able to use their iOS devices to cast their Google content to the big screen.
There’s one catch, though. Just like the Google Play Music iOS app, you won’t be able to purchase content using the app, due to Apple’s restrictions. You will however be able to purchase content on the web or Android device and then watch it on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. It’s not the end of the world, and if you’ve just switched from Android to iOS, chances are you have a good chunk of movies purchased through Google anyway.
Head over to the App Store and download the app and get to streaming!
