Apple has released iOS 7.1 this Monday morning, bringing some new features and a ton of bugfixes to iOS devices. The update adds CarPlay to the roster of iOS functionality, as well as an updated Touch ID sensor, iTunes Radio and some minor tweaks to Apple’s personal assistant, Siri.
Apple has optimized iOS 7.1 to play nicer with the iPhone 4, and has optimized the interface for a smoother experience across all iOS devices. A camera update specific to the iPhone 5S is included, being that the 5S has Apple’s A7 chip which allows for faster processing than other iOS devices, bringing HDR to the iPhone 5S.
CarPlay is among the heavy hitters included in iOS 7.1, which allows for users to use their iPhone 5, 5S or 5C in vehicles equipped with a touchscreen interface which is compatible with CarPlay, which should be widely available in some vehicles by the end of 2014.
The iOS 7.1 update has begun its rollout, and will be landing on devices in the coming days. If you’re sporting a device running iOS 7, look for an update notification to pop up on your device sometime soon.
