Apple may keep an 8-megapixel sensor for its rear camera, according to “sources with some knowledge of the matter.” Instead of going for the megapixel count, the Cupertino-based company will focus on improving the lens system and image quality.
Earlier we’ve heard that the iPhone 6 may have a 10-megapixel camera with a F/1.8 aperture, and use swappable resin lenses.
As that’s usually the case with Apple, nothing is official until it’s official. We do know that Cook & Co. couldn’t care less about many trends, let alone those related to camera. We are, however, confident these guys (and gals) will make a great product and its camera will be solid. Perhaps not as great as the some Nokia Lumia phones have, but pretty useful nevertheless.
We’ll keep following the Apple rumor-mill and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned…
