BlueAnt S1 is easy to use sun visor Bluetooth car speakerphone

BlueAnt S1 Bluetooth car speakerphone

Company behind many of the popular Bluetooth accessories, BlueAnt, has recently unveiled its S1 car speakerphone. The easy to use device can be activated either by pressing a button when the phone rings, or by simply saying the word “Answer.” If you opt for the latter method, there’s no need to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road, making the ride safer, as a result. And the same goes for dialing, but here, your phone must support the option.

In addition, the S1 also comes with support for multipoint technology, allowing two devices to be connected to the speakerphone at the same time. Moreover, it can also work as a speaker for your music.

Installation and setup is as simple as clipping the speakerphone to the car sun visor and running through a short one time pairing process. From hereafter, the S1 will automatically reconnect to the phone the next time you get in the car.

Finally, you may wonder what’s the battery life of the BlueAnt S1. It can work for up to 15 hours in talk, and up to 800 hours in standby mode. More information is available from BlueAnt’s website.

BlueAnt shows its latest Bluetooth headset – Q1

blueant q1 BlueAnt shows its latest Bluetooth headset Q1

By now you’ve probably heard about BlueAnt and their Bluetooth-enabled products — after all, we covered them for quite a few times at IntoMobile.

The company is using the CES to unveil its latest baby – Q1 Bluetooth headset, which features automatic volume control; patented acoustic form factor, designed to effectively eliminate wind; and dual-microphone technology to further eliminate background noise.

And while we’ve no details about the pricing nor exact release date, we do know BlueAnt’s headset sports removable over-ear loop, as well as an in-ear earpiece. In addition, we’ve heard a details about Q1’s battery — it should reportedly provide users with up to 4 hours of talk time…

BlueAnt’s new Bluetooth accessory lineup – Blueant V1 voice activated headset, Supertooth 3 handsfree speaker, M1 Bluetooth Speaker

BlueAnt V1 voice activated Bluetooth headset with dual microphonesLike a tiny, digital ant that can carry 50 times its weight, BlueAnt’s new Bluetooth accessories pack a wallop into compact and sleek packages. BlueAnt showed off their new V1 voice activated Bluetooth headset with dual microphones and noise reduction technology, their Supertooth 3 Bluetooth hands-free speakerphone, and their M1 Bluetooth speaker at CTIA yesterday.

The gem of their new lineup has to be the BlueAnt V1 Bluetooth headset. Not only does it keep the BlueAnt Z9 Bluetooth headset’s slim profile, but it packs in voice activation technology alongside all that dual-microphone, signal processing goodness. Want to check your battery level? Just ask the BlueAnt V1. Redial or call a particular contact? Just speak the command and the BlueAnt V1 will do you biding. The idea is to reduce the need to fiddle with tiny buttons and simply speak your commands.

As Bluetooth headsets get smaller and smaller, on-device real-estate for buttons become more and more scarce and less ergonomic. The solution? Add voice activation.

But, that’s not all BlueAnt has to offer. Ben already mentioned the other offerings from BlueAnt, so let me just offer my opinion on the Supertooth 3 and M1 Bluetooth speaker.

I found that the Supertooth 3 was somewhat lacking in style. BlueAnt does it up with style on their Bluetooth headsets, but when it comes to this hands-free speakerphone, BlueAnt seems to have skimped. The Supertooth 3 is definitely ultilitarian and gets the job done to a “T,” it it just a little bland and uninspired – minimalist design gone wrong, perhaps.

The M1 Bluetooth Speaker is another story entirely. The speaker system connects to your A2DP Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone over, well, A2DP Bluetooth and streams music directly from your handset. Sound quality was seemingly good, but it was loud in the showroom so it was hard to gauge sound fidelity. Sound output, however, was incredible. In that crowded room, I could hear the music quite well – the BlueAnt rep said the volume was “only on 5.” The unit itself is sleek and made with quality materials – no cheap plasticy feel here.

Now I just sit back and wait for the review units to come in. The next several months should be fun.

Jabra BT8040 Bluetooth Headset with Multi-point Technology

Jabra BT8040 bluetooth wireless headsetBlueAnt’s recently released Z9 Bluetooth headset had almost everything we could ask for in a Bluetooth headset – almost. We’d much rather do without that ear-hook  (does that mean it had more than we could ask for?). Regardless, wireless headsets these days are getting smaller – as they pack in more features. Enter the new Nokia (NYSE: NOK) BT8040 Bluetooth headset. The tiny 39×18x19mm, 10g, package sports a minimalistic 3-button setup – one for call answering/ending, and a set for volume adjustments – that packs in all the features you could want.

In addition to the voice-dialing, redialing, call waiting, and call holding features, this little headset rocks A2DP Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, noise-reducing DSP, auto-volume control, and acoustic shock protection. But, the slickest feature has to be Multi-point – allowing simultaneous Bluetooth connections to two devices at the same time. Think you can manage two different phones plugged right into your ear? Then the Jabra BT8040 is for you.

With 6 hous of talk-time and 200 hours of stand-by time, you’re going to have plenty of time to listen to your favorite tunes whilst your mom goes on and on about her new drapes.

SouthWing launches SH440 Bluetooth Headset exclusively in AT&T Stores

SouthWing SH440It seems like just yesterday that we were contemplating the increasingly decreasing footprints of Bluetooth headsets. In the world of headsets, smaller is better – and size does count for a lot. Enter SouthWing’s SH400 Bluetooth Headset. This diminutive, 11g, in-ear headset leads the competition with features like voice-guided device pairing, audible caller ID, audible battery life indicator, voice access to AT&T (NYSE: T)’s Services (like news, sports, weather), and the ability to save and call favorite numbers (straight from the headset). The SH440 uses SouthWing’s “Voice Menu” tech to audibly relay an incredible range of information without the need for a display. That’s a pretty trick feature – it’s like having a voice in your head, but in a good way.

SouthWing touts 10 hours of talktime and 2 weeks of standby time in this tiny little headset. But, we’re wondering how the voice-activation and voice-prompt features will affect that estimate. Still, at a $49.99 price point, this slick headset gets a thumbs up from us (maybe even two thumbs)!

BlueAnt launches award-winning Z9 Bluetooth Headset

BlueAnt Z9 Bluetooth HeadsetBluetooth headsets are getting smaller and smaller these days. BlueAnt’s newest headset offering follows in the shrinking tradition with their 1.5-inch, 0.35 ounce Z9 Bluetooth Headset. We last saw this pint-sized beauty winning a design award at CES 2007, so we’re excited to finally see this thing hit the market. But, don’t let the tiny size fool you, this little sucker packs a Bluetooth punch. The Z9 gives you the flexibility to pair up to 3 different devices, with the option to switch devices on -the-fly. Dual microphones, Voice Isolation Technology for noise reduction, and DSP fill-out the feature-set.

The noise reduction technology has two modes – Standard and Max, for normal and noisy environments, respectively. And, for a few cents shy of a C-note ($99.95) you can get your Bluetooth connectivity going for 5.5 hours of talktime or 200 hours of standby. Oh, and there are different rings for contacts and unknown callers – know that’s a pretty cool feature.

We like the translucent ear-hook that makes the diminutive headset almost seem to float in your ear. Still, we’d rather see the in-ear, hook-less design of the Samsung WEP200 implemented into this design.

Hit the BlueAntZ9.com site for more details and a peep at the slick, Z9-dedicated page.

Veritronix VX-818 - Slim Bluetooth SpeakerIn an industry filled with Bluetooth speakers, of all sorts, what’s to set Veritronix’s latest offering apart from the fodder? Well, the design, of course. Veritronix pegs their new Bluetooth speaker at 13mm thin, and gave it a slick style. The VX-818 is a sleek and slim Bluetooth 2.0 speaker system with hands-free profile support, miniUSB port, line-in, line-out, and 3.5mm stereo jack. The battery is good for 8 hours of gabbing, and can be recharged through USB.
