There have been a slew of Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone vs. Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95 comparos in the past weeks, nay months. Who could forget our very own Stefan’s hilarious “I’m an Apple iPhone” mock commercials. Both phones are the pride and joy of their respective companies, but which one is right for you?
Cnet’s iPhone v N95 match-up seeks to answer just that question – the gloves come off for this one. Fight!
This is the last episode in the iPhone vs N95 series. I was supposed to post it at 18:00 CST, but honestly I was too busy helping a friend move into his new place. Today after doing my morning blog posts I spent the rest of the daylight hours disconnected from the web with a few good mates, moving heavy objects, grunting and drinking beer. I’ve had it up to here with this iPhone hype and I’m glad I sat out on what is probably Steve Job’s third best day of his life. Number one being the day he found out his cancer is curable, number two being the launch of the first Mac.
Will this phone change how other manufactures look at user interface? Absolutely! Was it worth reading the word iPhone in every other blog post I’ve read in the past week? Not at all. There is good marketing and then there is a vomit inducing point of saturation.
I hope you had fun watching them. Ricky and I sure had fun making them for you. Hell writing the scripts took almost 4 hours of our time.
Enough romancing about the past, here she is, episode number 6:
When Steve Jobs said the iPhone would be the first cell phone to bring the full internet experience in the palm (NSDQ: PALM) of your hand you could hear millions of S60 users around the world producing a faint moan. The iPhone uses the “Safari Engine,” a marketing term for the open source webkit project. Here is the metaphorical bucket of cold water Ricky and I are throwing on the situation:
While I’m enjoying Stefan and Ricky’s “Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone vs Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95″ videos (episode 1 and 2), I came across the one dealing with the same subject. The background music is from the iPhone ads, but the device presented is the Nokia N95. As they say… “Never been an iPod like N95… nor will there be an iPhone.” Enjoy!
The launch of the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone is nigh! Barely a week lies between us and our iPhone and we can literally feel the industry buzz through our desktop. The incredible hype surrounding the iPhone will climax with the launch slated for Friday, June 29, 2007 at 6pm. Until then, we’ll keep you up to date (up to the minute, even) on the latest happenings and developments in the iPhone world.
We’re seeing the very first Apple iPhone shipments start to hit airports across the country. From there, they will be escorted under armed-guard to the FedEx trucks that are slated to deliver the precious cargo to Apple and AT&T (NYSE: T) stores across the US.
We also have word that the iPhone will be offered with an iPhone data plan. The “iPlan” (get it?) will an unlimited-flavored data package and may include 2,000 or unlimited SMS text messages for $34 to $44 per month.
Aside from Stefan and his hilarious parodies of the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) iPhone, the rest of the IntoMobile squad is peeing in our pants fairly excited for the launch of the Apple iPhone this week. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to announce Into iPhone – our mini-site dedicated to the Apple iPhone! There’s been soo much Apple iPhone-related news recently (and tons more to come, we’re sure) that we thought our community (that’s you guys) would appreciate a dedicated iPhone mini-site.
At Into iPhone, our goal is to bring you the same quality and breadth of content that we strive for here at IntoMobile – but focused on the Apple iPhone. We’ve been working hard to bring you the latest and greatest in the iPhone world, and we think we’ve done pretty darn well! Into iPhone is your one-stop resource for everything you could want to know about the Apple iPhone. You’ll find all iPhone posts aggregated into one convenient blog, but it doesn’t stop there. We know you want to hear all the up-to-the-minute news on the iPhone, so the Into iPhone team will be covering the world of the Apple iPhone like the obsessive iPhone-fanboys we are!
Ricky and I had wayyy too much time over the weekend. Stay tuned for 4 more videos, one being released every day at 18:00 CST (GMT – 6:00) until Friday the 29th.
In this skit we tackle the iPhone’s horrible camera, 2 megapixel, no autofocus, no flash:
I hate to steal a marketing term, but Nokia (NYSE: NOK) really does connect people. When I started my RingNokia blog over half a year ago I had my phone number listed in the right hand corner. I felt that if anyone wanted to connect to me they could shoot me a text or even give me a call (+1 817 808 9258). Ricky Cadden, a blogger I knew, instantly recognized that 817 prefix and asked where I lived. A few emails back and forth and we soon discovered we were only 15 miles (24 km) away from each other.
Neither of us like the iPhone and we were amazed no one made any commercials bashing it. We got together one afternoon and shoot 6 parodies of the Mac vs PC commercials. One will be released everyday at 18:00 CST until the iPhone’s launch on Friday. Hope you find them funny.
White boy can’t dance and yes I’m playing the iPhone.
