Callpod’s Keeper keeps your personal information safe on iPhone, BlackBerry and Android phones

Keeper

Callpod, which we already know as a maker of cool and quite expensive accessories, announced its entrance into the smartphone application market. Their product is called Keeper and it allows users to quickly and easily store all sensitive passwords, notes, lists and other personal information in a safe and multi-layer encrypted, secure environment.

Speaking of secure environment, Keeper uses 128-bit military-grade AES encryption to make sure even if you lost your phone another person can’t access your data. Heck, even if this happens [someone manages to get your phone], there’s a self destruct mode, which as you might guess, erases all the information stored in the Keeper.

There’s also a desktop component which works both on Mac and PC computers, allowing you to have your information always in sync.

Finally, Keeper is available for three popular smartphone platforms – iPhone, BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) and Android. iPhone app is currently in beta, and it costs a buck… More information is available from Callpod’s website.

Callpod’s Chargepod V2 goes beyond the original by including laptop charging and a USB hub

Remember that ultra-cool Callpod’s accessory called Chargepod, which allowed (and still allows) users to charge up to 6 devices at the same time. Well, it has been updated and it’s better than ever!

The Chargepod V2 builds on top of the original device, but adds a 3-port USB hub as well as PC/Mac laptop charging to the mix — actually, I’m not sure how it can charge Macs as MagSafe is Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s proprietary thing.

Anyway, I see the problem – it’s the price. At the moment, Callpod is selling its cool multi-charging baby for whopping $200. That’s a lot for an accessory that doesn’t boast any precious metal on it, don’t you think? :)

Callpod’s Drone is the world’s most powerful Bluetooth dongle

29 drone Callpods Drone is the worlds most powerful Bluetooth dongle

Callpod, the company which we know for its great Bluetooth accessories, is out with yet another product. It’s called the Drone, and with an operating range of 100 meters – it’s the world’s most powerful Bluetooth dongle, created from die-cast zinc and high impact polycarbonate for strength and durability.

In the official release, Callpod suggests Drone is great for making VoIP (Skype) calls, listening to music on Bluetooth stereo speakers, printing to Bluetooth printers and so on. We, on the other hand, see the clear benefit of faster transfer of data between a phone and computer. With 100MBps, one could actually transfer some serious content like songs and video clips from a PC to a mobile device.

Finally, let’s talk about pricing. The Drone is available for $49.95, which is kinda expensive for a Bluetooth dongle. And while I’ve no doubts the Drone rocks, I just don’t see that many people pouring out 50 bucks for something that usually costs $10. Then again, who knows…

Deal: Callpod’s 6-in-1 charger Chargepod now $39.95!

Callpod Chargepod

Roughly a year ago, we wrote about Callpod’s 6-in-1 charger called Chargepod. The versatile charger used to cost $79.95, but Callpod decided it’s about time to make it appealing to wider audience, hence they’ve reduced the price to $39.95. The problem, though, is that “manufacturer specific adaptors” kept their price, meaning that you’ll still have to pour out additional $9.95 per adaptor. At the end, you’ll still have to pay about 80 bucks to get the Chargepod along let’s say 4 custom adaptors. Or you could grab a bundle pack for $79.95, which includes the Chargepod base unit, AC wall plug, car charger, carrying case and six popular adapters: Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)/iPod/phone, Motorola (NYSE: MOT), Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM), Nokia (NYSE: NOK), Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Treo and Sony PSP… More information is available on Callpod’s website.

Chargepod – Charge 6 Devices at Once!

Chargepod charging station can charge up to 6 devices at onceCallpod wants to organize the way you charge your mobile devices with their new 6-port Chargepod charging hub. The hub can connect to 6 devices, including PDAs, mobile phones, headsets, iPods, and other devices through “manufacturer-specific adaptors” (juicing up 500mA per device). The Chargepod will free your pockets of about $50, but each adaptor will cost an additional $10. So, if you really, really have to organize your charging station, get that C-note handy and grab a Chargepod! We like the idea of getting rid of that charging cable mess that keeps our cat so busy.
