DirecTV subscribers who own Android tablets now have a new way to manage their viewing experience. The DirecTV Android app had been previously released for smartphones, but has now been optimized and released for Android tablets. The app will allow users to view programming from any room in their home, and will include the AUDIENCE network.
The application has an interface that allows users to browse DirectTV programming such as show and movies and will display information such as cast listings, program descriptions and ratings. The app also allows the ability to browse the channel guide and tap a channel to view on TV, get real-time scores for sports games and even set DVR recordings from anywhere.
The Home Screen is fully customizable, allowing users to create lists of favorite channels, such as programs recently watched, what’s popular, and what live TV channels are available for viewing.
