G-Park lets the forgetful iPhone/iPod Touch users bookmark their car

G-Park for iPhone/iPod Touch

G-Park is a neat, easy-to-use iPhone app that allows you to bookmark the place where you parked your car. Apparently (I haven’t tried it myself, yet), it will work on older iPhones, as well as on the iPod Touch. Since there’s no GPS receiver in the first-gen Apple’s handset and iPod Touch, the tracking relies on cell tower triangulation and WiFi. Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m not actually sure how that will work with the iPod Touch. Heck, I’m not sure how that will work with the non-3G iPhone as well. Cell tower triangulation doesn’t seem precise enough for finding the car.

Guess the developer just wanted to show it can work on 2G iPhone as well. The real deal will be with the iPhone 3G where you’ll see the exact location of your car and even get some guidance along the way.

G-Park will hit the AppStore tomorrow, July 11th. In the meantime, you can simply use Google Maps and bookmark the place upon parking.
