Pulse News Reader for iPhone and Android Now Free

A popular visual news reading app, Pulse, just went free for Android and iPhone. It used to be priced between $1 and $4, but apparently they’re hoping to make their money through paid publisher partnerships.

All of the standard features of a news reader are there – syncing feeds from Google Reader, searching for keywords, adding new feeds, sharing stories to Facebook, e-mail, and Twitter, but what makes Pulse really different is that it shows news using prominent images rather than the standard tired old list of news items. By having sliding rows, you can scroll through many headlines quickly, and switch stories quickly once you’re done reading one. Here’s a quick demo.

Pretty cool stuff, eh? Go ahead and check out Pulse in either the Android Market or iTunes App Store.
