Manufacturer of insulated beverage bottles Thermos is joining a number of other companies that use iPhone app as a marketing tool. Their offering (app) is called OasisPlaces and it’s designed to help folks stay cool and hydrated while on-the-go.
The free application acts like a location-aware user-generated guide that allows users to track locations, ratings and even photos of public water fountains across the U.S. Additionally, registered users can add their own fountains and comments.
As you may know, it can be challenging to keep a reusable bottle full of fresh water while away from home or work. OasisPlaces comes with tons of locations where users can refill their Thermos (or some other) bottles while travelling.
According to the official press release, using an insulated beverage bottle is not only environmentally friendly, but also cost effective — in comparison, buying just one disposable water bottle a day can cost an average of $450 a year…
