While we tend to focus on tablets and smartphones here at IntoMobile, the orignal form of mobile computing – laptops – are getting a real boost with the ultrabook form factor. We’re here live at a Dell and Intel event to show off the new Dell XPS 13 ultrabook, so let’s follow along for the kick off event. For those of you who don’t know, the Dell XPS ultrabook is a 13-inch laptop that’s packed with a lot of power in the super sleek form factor. When you see one Read more

CES 2012: LG Booth Tour

The new LG phones announced at the CES include Connect 4G for MetroPCS, Spectrum for Verizon Wireless and Viper for Sprint. But that’s just one piece of the puzzle. The Korean company also used the big event to unveil its first Google TV product as well as some other (non-Android based) smart TVs with Internet access. When compared to Samsung, LG failed to impress. They do have deals with all major U.S. carriers and I’m sure we’ll hear more from them soon (Mobile World Congress in Barcelona?). In the meantime, Read more

CES 2012: Motorola Booth Tour

Motorola (actually Verizon Wireless) announced just two devices at the CES – DROID RAZR MAXX and DROID 4, as well as a deal with Intel to make Atom-based devices. Their booth obviously reflected this, showing the new gadgets to the world. But wait – there’s more with the company also allowing folks to play with their awesome accessories. Yep this includes their HD docks and even better – Lapdocks, which practically turn select Moto smartphones into full fledged netbooks… You can see how all this comes together from our gallery. CES 2012: Microsoft Booth Tour

Like it or not, Microsoft’s Windows Phone is on the rise. They have a deal with Nokia to thank for the traction and all the publicity their mobile platform is getting. Speaking of it, Nokia announced Lumia 900 at the big event in Vegas, while CEOs of both companies agreed there’s money to be made in the U.S. smartphone market. At the same time, the Redmond giant talked about Windows 8, praising its new Metro UI and all of the new features it will bring to the world. Tablets were Read more

CES 2012: Qualcomm Booth Tour

These are easy days for Qualcomm. The company has a deal with Microsoft under which every Windows Phone shipped comes with a Snapdragon processor. Moreover, Qualcomm’s CPUs are integrated in quite a few Android smartphones, most notably those requiring some special settings like LTE and 1700MHz HSPA (T-Mobile USA). But that’s not enough with Qualcomm using the big event to show-off a 4G LTE-enabled Windows 8 tablet and announce Snapdragon S4 processor for Android-powered smart TVs. Yep they’re going for the big screen and they’ll most likely get an instant Read more

CES 2012: Blackberry Booth Tour

RIM used the big event to announce the new BlackBerry OS 7.1 and BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. In addition, Verizon Wireless picked-up the BlackBerry Curve 9370. And that’s about out. Tom and Yoeau, who were running around with a camera, weren’t too impressed with RIM’s booth, hence we only have few photos to share. And when you think about it – the Canadian company failed to impress us… again. Maybe they’ll have something cooler for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. In any case, here are the photos we took…

CES 2012: Verizon Booth Tour

Verizon announced few cool devices at the CES — including the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX, Motorola DROID 4, LG Spectrum, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, BlackBerry Curve 9370 and 4G hotspot ZTE Jetpack — all of which are at display at their red booth. Moreover, some of their earlier announced products were there as well like the Moto XYBOARD tablets, as well as the newer LTE devices. But that’s not all, we also liked the Verizon 4G LTE car that demoed OnStar integration, showing us what connected driving is all about. Read more

CES 2012: Huawei Booth Tour

We know Huawei is working to get an even bigger slice of the U.S. market, and in that sense they’ve launched the Ascend P1S, the world’s thinnest dual core Android smartphone. Moreover, they’re also showing some of their older products at CES, including the popular Ascend II smartphone which is available from multiple carriers, as well as few tablets most of which are still not available in the U.S. (except the T-Mobile Springboard aka Huawei MediaPad). But I said it enough, here’s how their booth looks like…

CES 2012: ZTE Booth Tour

ZTE is still far from a household name in the U.S. While they do offer some consumer products — like the brand new 4G hotspot ZTE Jetpack from Verizon Wireless — they’re still far other handset makers. That said, they did show some decent products at the CES, though I can’t say we were that impressed. Will the Chinese company do something about it in 2012? Most likely, but as far as know how these things work – they’ll start with mid-tier products, gradually building brand awareness to eventually launch Read more
