Contact UsBlake was born in Lumberton, Texas, a small town about 100 miles away from Houston. Even as a youngster, technology came to him very naturally, tinkering with anything he could. His passion of technology grew with mobile phones when he dreamed that the capabilities of phones would eventually make one’s life much easier. Since then it’s been his mission to advocate the push of mobile technology to anyone who will listen.
The Android Market’s road to getting where it is today was a rocky one, and even though it’s never looked better and is miles better when it comes to discoverability, some people may want more. We’ve seen some attempts at making the Android Market a more personable experience but none have come close to Appreciate. Not only is Appreciate a great application to have on hand when trying to find Android apps, it looks good doing it, too. Appreciate breaks down applications by the amount of downloads, whether its relevant … Read more
LG’s upcoming X3 handset is bound to be a doozy of a phone, given that we’ve seen the specs pop up a few times now. Now we’re also hearing that the handset may be called the Optimus 4X HD when launched and it may even end up being the T-Mobile G2X successor later on. The LG X3 / Optimus 4X HD is said to rock a 4.7 inch 720p display, possibly of the True HD IPS variety, NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 8 megapixel camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 2000 … Read more
While we’re pretty unsure of anything that Sony will be announcing during Mobile World Congress next week, the fog has lifted slightly and it looks like we have a new handset coming our way. That handset would be the Xperia U aka Kumquat, which looks to be a smaller version of the Xperia S – in size and specs. The Xperia U has been floating around for some time now but has shown up again just in time for a MWC launch, and right next to its big brother, the … Read more
Last week HTC gave the world an idea of what handsets to expect to get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in the coming months. The line up includes the entire Sensation line, as well as a handful of other handsets, but HTC wasn’t finished. A new Facebook post named “Ice Cream Sandwich Updates: The North American Edition” details a couple more handsets that made the cut for Ice Cream Sandwich in the US and Canada. Now we can expect the Droid Incredible 2, Thunderbolt, Rhyme, and Raider to … Read more
The HTC Endeavor / One X is becoming a poorly kept secret, as we’re hearing more details leaks out for the device virtually every day. MoDaCo recently got some time with the upcoming device and have detailed the hardware very well. It looks like potential Endeavor owners will be happy with a majority of the handset’s features and not so happy about a few. The Good Said to be rocking a 4.7 inch 720p Super LCD display, the Endeavor will not be for everyone when it comes to size. We’ve … Read more
If you’re looking for an interesting case for your Galaxy Nexus but aren’t impressed with Verizon’s current selection of cases and want something with a little more spunk, then you may like Boxwave’s DuoSuit case. This case may not like anything special but it’s still a unique that some may like the look of. What makes the DuoSuit standout is the use of a frosted and transparent pieces on the back. The case I reviewed was the grey version, which doesn’t really pop like some of the other color options … Read more
Ever since the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was announced, it was said that it would come in 16GB and 32Gb variants, yet we’ve still only see the 16GB hit store shelves. Well, it looks like Samsung has dropped the 32GB version of the world’s first Ice Cream Sandwich phone altogether, with no reason as to why. While there’s no definitive reason for the halt of the 32GB version, we’d blame Google. More on that below. This information comes to us by an Expansys employee that posted on the XDA forums the … Read more
In the world of phones, most go through many names before they hit retail stores and that’s exactly what we’re seeing with the HTC Endeavor and Ville. Both of these phones, no matter what they will end up being named, are something to get excited for. That said, a solid name always helps. The Endeavor’s name may have been switched around and could launch as the HTC One X, which does have a nice ring to it. We’re also hearing that the HTC Ville may also be dubbed the One … Read more
We have a love/hate relationship with HTC’s custom user interface, Sense. It’s both very beautiful and terribly bloated at the same time, and virtually every handset running Sense is adorned by the nice, yet aging, retro clock on its main homescreen. Well, we were hoping to see some sort of design shift for Sense when it came to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and with the handful of new screenshots found from the upcoming Endeavor RUU, the answer becomes apparent. Same Sense, more heavy customization. Go figure. Still, that still … Read more
Put on your rumor hats, folks, as we have a nice one for you today. Eldar Murtazin has once again tweeted the deets about Samsung’s plans and this time it’s concerning the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Galaxy S II. According to Murtazin’s tweet, Galaxy S II users can expect to see the rollout of Ice Cream Sandwich on March 1st through Samsung Kies. This would definitely be quite a treat for users but we’re going to assume that if the update is available on March 1st, … Read more
Looks like HTC isn’t wasting any time when it comes to updating its existing line of handsets to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Today on Facebook, HTC announced that the Android 4.0 update rollout would begin in late March, starting with the Sensation line of handsets. We do know that HTC’s new handset flow will begin to wane in 2012 in favor of better quality devices but we don’t know if that also translates to a greater focus on updating the massive amount of different handsets it released last year. … Read more
